A company’s own employees are a significant factor in the majority of data breaches, either through malicious activity or avoidable mistakes, say two new studies, but companies aren’t doing enough to address this issue.

The problem is awareness, skills and workload pressure.

Awareness must be addressed with education.

Skills and workload pressure are a big challenge. You simply don’t have time for all those new systems, logins, processes etc. Security tech is simply too complicated and hard to learn. And this is not their fault, the blame should be on IT personnel and tech suppliers. It must be made simple! Simpler to do right than to develop your own shortcuts, just to get your work done.
