SentinelOne researchers discovered spotted a sophisticated nation-state sponsored malware campaign with potential to knock out an electric grid.
The utilities industry is a prime target for cyber terrorism and extortion schemes. Again and again we see new hacks and breaches highlighting the need for redesign of IT networks and systems, and this will be accelerating with Industry 4.0. Peripheral security is not enough in the digital economy. You need more advanced tools and deigns, like adaptive multi-factor authentication, network segmentation, encryption of all data at rest and in motion, etc.
