The infrastructure will be based on radio and public networks. The networks will very much be distributed where the devices talk directly to each other and draw conclusions without involving servers.

This is a completely different architecture from the web or clouds as they are being built today. It is actually going back to what Internet was conceived for.

This requires new tools and methods for Operation & Maintenance of IoT systems and applications. And security that is built on protecting data and applications, not only protecting networks.
