Privacy/Security and price are the obstacles. Too expensive and people cannot afford. Too insecure than people will not want or dare. Too difficult then people will not use.
I just hope that suppliers stop sacrificing security for price, ease of use and design. If early adopters get robbed or hurt we will not have an IoT market in 2016, just a big backlash.
