Private information relating to more than 280,000 domains registered via Google Apps has leaked, leaving the registrants open to risk of identity theft or spear phishing.

Even the big ones fumble, leaving their customer data unprotected. Maybe it’s time to rethink the “oh they are so huge so they must be good?” assumption and look for service providers that prioritize security before growth? And in this case it’s even more awkward. Googles business model is to harvest all user data and monetize upon it, not giving it away for free.
