The Connected World, Mobile First, Internet of Everything, are all concepts describing the accelerating disruption both in technology and business models. The wave of change that happens when all people and things are constantly connected. The most common tools today are things like smartphones, laptops, web servers, TVs, industrial automation, telemetry, etc. Soon we will have a Smart Home in every home, an internet connection in every device, self-driving and communicating cars, smart cities, etc. The Connected World.
Business models will change. Data will flow over public networks and will be aggregated in clouds and X-as-a-Services. New values will be created and new products and services launched by entrepreneurs (and entrepreneurial larger players) and they will change the whole business landscape.
Who could have foreseen the rapid disruption of public transportation brought by Uber and the ride-sharing companies? Where will eHealth and connected wearables take us? How about distributed energy production with solar panels and battery storage like the ones launched by Tesla?
And with everything connected how do we protect and secure that data? And what about privacy?
Things will change, big time.
